How to Make Tandoori Turkey Sausage Rolls - An Indian-Inspired Recipe!
Tandoori turkey sausages are an Indian-inspired twist on classic sausage rolls. These rolls are stuffed with spiced turkey, onion, and spices. Giving them the flavour of tandoori chicken. With only a few simple ingredients and a couple of steps, you can create flavorful tandoori sausages at home that are perfect for parties, game days, or any time you want to serve up a spicy snack.
Ingredients
- 1 Packet/170g Sage and Onion Stuffing
- 1 Large Knob Butter (optional)
- 425g Boiling water
- 4/5 Table Spoons Tandoori Masala
- 170g Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese - Course Grated
- 500g Turkey Mince (Can substitute with Chicken)
- 4 Rolls Puff Pastry Sheets
- 1 Egg
Method
Mix Tandoori Masala with Meat
In small bowl add the Tandoori Massala to the meat and mix together. Once the Meat is mixed, leave it to stand/marinate while the stuffing cools
Make Stuffing
Empty stuffing sachet into a large bowl. Add the Large Knob of butter to the bowl and pour in the boiling water. Give the mix a nice stir and leave to stand for 5-10 minutes so the water can be absorbed.
Mix Cheese into Stuffing
Grate the cheese and stir into the Stuffing
Mix Stuffing with the meat
Once the Stuffing has cooled down, add the meat and mix together
Split mixture into 8 portions.
Split mixture into 8 portions. (Alternatively weigh the mixure and note the 1/8th weight)
Unroll Pastry and stretch
Split the pastry roll into half. Powder the work surface and unroll the first half. Streach along the width a litle (will make the fold over a little easier)
add mixture to pastry
Add a portion of the mixture into the pastry and spread evenly along the length
Roll Pastry around mixture
Fold the bottom of the pastry over the mixture Beat an egg into a bowl and use a brush to apply a layer to the folded edge. Fold down the top half of the pastry onto egg mixture to complete the roll
Flatten roll
Place paper on top and apply gentle pressure to flatten.
Chop into fingers
Place the roll onto the paper and move to a cutting board Cut into finger slices/portions
Place on baling sheet and glaze
Move the fingers to a baking sheet lined with greese proof paper. Glaze the top of each rolls with egg.
Bake in preheated oven
Preheat the oven to 200c Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the rolls are golden.
Bake and Repeat
Repeat the last few steps until all the mixture has been used
